With the development of automobiles industry, and the popularity of
vehicles, traffic accidents become more and more. Researches have shown that a
large number of traffic accidents are mainly due to the drivers failed to take
appropriate measurement for emergency on time.Traffic accidents have been
taking thousands of lives each year, outnumbering any deadly diseases or
natural disasters. Studies show that about 60% roadway collisions could
be avoided if the operator of the vehicle was provided warning at least
one-half second prior to a collision.also statistics release show 1,179 people
were injured in 1,351 crashes compared to 1,243 people in
1,432 incidents last year in dubai alone. the problem of the rising number
of accidents is a main concern especially that its the second major of death in
the UAE.
the solution to this problem is to take precautionary measures to ensure
the avoidance of all types of traffic accidents.With the development of
communication technology, how to take advantage of the advanced wireless
communications network to improve road safety has been a focus. Based on this,
an inter-vehicular (aka vehicle-to-vehicle)
system is proposed. This is done by vehicular ad hoc network –VANET– which could
provide safety message for drivers and business or
entertainment message for passengers. Safety message is delivered on time is
very important for the driver to take measurements to avoid accidents. Safety
messages could be transmitted through vehicle-to-vehicle network Safety
information and vehicle status collected from the sensors could be transmitted
in vehicle to vehicle network for relevant drivers. The drivers could take
proper measurements on time to reduce or even avoid traffic accidents.
